Fearless Cheetahs Disband after suffering a series of setbacks at the ESL Impact League Season 5 Europe’s online stage.

Fearless Cheetahs Part Ways

It is not unheard of for esports teams to dissolve if things don’t quite work out for a variety of reasons. However, it is somewhat rare for this to happen very soon after a team has been formed. But this seems to have happened with the all-female CS2 team Fearless Cheetahs have parted ways after just two months together. This news comes just a week after the conclusion of ESL Impact League Season 5 Europe’s online stage.

The team’s in-game leader Ksenia “vilga” Klyuenkova talked about the reason why the team disbanded so soon after its formation. According to her, things just “didn’t work out”. She thanked her now-former teammates for the four months spent competing together, saying it was quite fun.

Despite the disbandment of the team, vilga stated that she is still eager to play and shared her contacts with any interested esports organizations. While she is waiting for offers, she said she will take some time off to evaluate her future options.

How Did the Team Perform?

Fearless Cheetahs’ disbandment comes as somewhat of a surprise to many as the team originally had quite a promising start. The squad was formed in February after Nigma Galaxy — now Pigeons — parted ways with vilga in early 2024. The Russian in-game leader then linked up with the core of the former 9 Pandas Fearless roster ahead of Impact League Season 5.

Considering vilga was with Nigma Galaxy for quite a long time as the team was dominating the female CS competitive scene last year, one would think that the new roster would also be dominant. Nigma Galaxy last won the ESL Impact League Season 4 before vilga left.

For a while, it looked like the Fearless Cheetahs would be the next favorite in the field. They performed well in the online Europe group stage of ESL Impact League Season 5, finishing with a 4-1 record in Group B. However, the team t missed out on directly qualifying for the Season 5 Finals in Dallas due to a lost head-to-head matchup with NAVI Javelins, who also ended Group B with a 4-1 record.

Unfortunately, the team’s woes continued as they fell against BIG EQUIPA to miss out on the offline finals entirely. The last fall the team suffered was against GUILD fe, leading to the Fearless Cheetahs disbanding. Their roster was comprised of:

  • Ksenia “vilga” Kluenkova
  • Anastasia “kr4sy” Khlobystina
  • Victoria “Victoria” Ukasova
  • Tanya “t4tty” Vorontsova
  • Ksenia “Ksu” Volkova
