  • Team SoloMid has signed Undying’s roster and they are entering the DPC NA Regional Finals as the underdog
  • Evil Geniuses are given a slight advantage in the upcoming bout on Friday, February 18
  • We believe TSM will win with correct score and the game will go the distance

The DPC NA Regional Finals are set to begin on Friday, February 18 with four teams vying for the top spot. One of those games is the upcoming bout between Team SoloMid and Evil Geniuses, both of which are fairly evenly matched in the overall standings and who will be seeking to secure a victory in the game.

So, who can win the series? Both squads are absolute powerhouses in North America. The competition will stretch for three games in a Bo3 format and be played online. Let’s take a look at what the team’s chances of success are.

TSM Odds to Win (Feb 18, 2022)

Hold on, what are Team SoloMid doing in the Regional Finals? That is a good question. TSM signed Team Undying on January 25, effectively catapulting itself into the Regional Finals. The squad has retained the same crew and they will be going out against EG, seeking a rematch.

The two teams last squared off on January 11 in Week 5 in the Regional Division I, and the game went in EG’s favor. Yet, we are not convinced that this has set the trend for the rest of the DPC. In fact, Undying was able to triumph over EG right at the end of Division I, returning the favor, and signing 2-0 to their name against EG – a clean run and no less.

The question is if TSM can pull it off once again. The squad performed very decently during The International, even though they had to fund their own showing. They are now posted as the underdog at (1.99) and we think this is fair. We also think that TSM are riding a two-win streak from Division I and they are very likely to keep their momentum, or in the very least put up a fight.

EG Odds to Win (Feb 18, 2022)

Evil Geniuses are given slightly better odds at 1.73 as of the time of writing, which means that they are the most likely favorite. That is mostly because EG managed to defeat the Division I winners, Team Quincy. They still ended third, a spot behind from Undying, though, which makes this upcoming game a bit of a puzzler.

EG surely have the qualities to win, and you can see why Bitcasino would give them slightly better odds. After all, EG and Bitcasino are partners so there must be just a smidgeon of bias there. However, judging from what we have seen over the past month or so, we are more inclined to back Undying or as they are known now TSM to win the series with correct score and the series going the distance.
