ESIC’s new board will provide advice to ESIC CEO Stephen Hanna on industry issues to help shape policies governing fair play and and spread ethical practices in the esports industry.

ESIC Reveals New Board

Like any other sport, esports also need regulatory bodies that ensure fair play and ethical practices in the industry. This is the main mission of the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) and to further help it with this, the organization has recently created a special advisory board. Aptly named the Global Esports Industry Advisory Board, ESIC has appointed David Neichel, SVP of Public and International Affairs at ESL FACEIT Group, and Robbie Douek, CEO of BLAST as part of its composition.

The new special Advisory Board’s task is providing advice to ESIC CEO Stephen Hanna on industry issues. It will help create a robust framework for integrity and fairness, setting a global benchmark for ethical conduct and fair competition in esports. Additionally, the Advisory Board will offer strategic insights, help shape policies governing fair play, and act as ambassadors advocating for ethical practices.

Lately, ESIC has been quite busy creating various bodies aimed at helping its mission. A few weeks ago, ESIC announced an esports integrity education platform, whose aim is to help curb cheating by providing various tutorials to esports professionals.

Who Are the Board’s Two Prominent Members

As already mentioned, ESIC brought aboard two highly esteemed members to inaugurate the new board. David Neichel is the Senior Vice President of Public & International Affairs at ESL FACEIT Group (EFG). He has over fifteen years of experience in the video games industry, including significant roles at Activision-Blizzard and Electronic Arts.

Meanwhile, Robbie Douek, CEO of prominent esports tournament organizer BLAST, brings a wealth of experience from his roles at Google and Disney. Douek is praised for his strategic leadership and his instrumental role in elevating esports to a significant global entertainment platform.

“Both David and Robbie bring a remarkable depth of knowledge and a passion for advancing the integrity of esports,” said Hanna about the two prominent board members. “Their expertise will be crucial as we navigate the evolving landscape of esports and strive to maintain the integrity that our industry expects and deserves.”

Neichel and Douek expressed how honored they are to join the Global Esports Industry Advisory Board and support ESIC’s project.
