YouTuber NukeJesus infiltrated a private cheating community on Discord to reveal the newest methods that hackers use to cheat.
New Cheats Discovered
Cheating in video games has always been present and developers have been in a constant battle to build various systems to detect and ban cheaters. The Call of Duty franchise is no exception to that, forcing Activision to create the Ricochet anti-cheat system in an attempt to curb the problem.
Usually, this works well enough to keep cheaters at bay, but some recent information has pointed to the fact that hackers might have the advantage currently. According to content creator NukeJesus, there is a private cheating community on Discord called “Call of Doodie” where players discuss hacking and share cheats. Although many similar communities exist, this one seems to be a fair cut above the rest.
According to the YouTuber, this community has already developed several ways to circumvent Activision’s anti-cheat system. One of Ricochet’s features takes screenshots of the game screen when a player is suspected of hacking. However, the newly developed hack can apparently disable itself when it detects Ricochet is about to take a screenshot, then enables itself again after Ricochet completes its pass. Considering there aren’t any object markers like wallhacks on the screenshots, Ricochet assumes innocence until the next pass.
What Can Be Done?
It seems that NukeJesus has taken it upon themselves to bring down those at the top of leaderboards who don’t deserve to be there. According to the content creator, it took them three years to gain access to the server with “the top dogs” who populate the top 250-player list.
Apparently, these Call of Duty players have multiple accounts that they sell to others who want CoD clout. One account was allegedly sold for as much as $600, according to NukeJesus, who provided proof of the sale in his video. Interestingly, it seems that the cheat developers also cover other titles such as Apex Legends, Counter-Strike 2, Escape from Tarkov, and more.
Although Ricochet has proven to do work in the past, considering there were numerous ban waves, many players still say that this is not enough to curb the cheater menace. Now that information about the newest hacks in CoD has surfaced, fans are calling for more intrusive anti-cheat systems.
