  • The German player is now looking for a European team
  • Many suggested that the player should join MOUZ, which is currently rebuilding
  • He has reached 12,000 MMR over the past couple of months

After spending a couple of months on hiatus, German midlaner Stormstormer announced that he is once again looking for a Dota 2 team.

Stormstormer Returns to Dota 2

Daniel “Stormstormer” Schoetzau of former Entitiy fame took to Twitter recently to announce that he intends to return to competitive Dota 2. The German player was last seen on the big stage in February when he participated at the BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024 as part of Nouns’ roster as a substitute.

Unfortunately, the team had a disappointing run throughout the event, ending at the 9th-12th spot, which led to Stormstormer leaving the organization. Since then, the 25-year-old player has been absent on the big Dota 2 stage as he also left Entity on February 24 and took a short break.

However, it looks like the player is done waiting and recently he tweeted that he plans to return to the professional scene and is looking for a European team. Furthermore, it looks like he has not sat idle over the past couple of months, as according to his tweet, StromStormer managed to secure the 12,000 MMR milestone on April 13.

Further emphasizing his enthusiasm to play Dota 2 professionally once again, Stormstormer wrote, “Ready to show again what I’ve got”. A lot of fans rejoiced to see the German player return to the professional scene. Some even suggested that he would fit perfectly into the rosters of Dota 2 teams like MOUZ and Team Secret. “MOUZ call this man. Don’t wanna be that guy but SS [Stormstormer] > Supreme all day any day,” one fan wrote.

That’s not a bad idea, considering MOUZ recently re-entered the Dota 2 esports scene and is still in the process of building a good team. Currently, the midlane for the team is commanded by Ondřej “Supream^” Štarha, who is on trial at this point in time. But considering Stormstormer is a seasoned midlaner, MOUZ may look at him instead.

What’s the Player’s History with the Game?

Stromstormer’s career in Dota 2 spans way back to 2016 when he was just starting out in his home country of Germany. He spent the next few years changing between different teams, but his breakthrough on the big stage was likely when he joined Entity in late 2021.

As part of the roster, he competed in various events around the globe. However, the two biggest achievements were probably the participation in The International 2022 and 2023, although Entity had an early exit from both.

2024 was particularly unfriendly to Entrity, as their only major victory with Stromstromer alongside them was a win at the BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024: NA and SA Closed Qualifier.

It will be interesting to see how the German player has improved over the past couple of months.
