  • Valve released the latest Counter-Strike 2 update on October 5
  • However, it did not contain the two console commands that players really want
  • It’s unlikely Valve will add them soon, as the company is preparing CS2 for IEM Sydney

Players want Valve to add the ability to hold the gun with the left hand and adjust how much it moves, just like it was in older Counter-Strike iterations.

Fans Want the Old Commands Back

Counter-Strike 2 was launched last week, and although it was more or less positively received by the community, there are still many issues that need to be ironed out. Because of this, Valve have been putting out updates and patches. Despite that, some issues still persist and players are wondering why the company has not yet addressed them.

The most recent questions were posed after Valve released a patch on October 5 to address some graphics issues, as well as other miscellaneous things. However, many fans asked under the Twitter post about the update why Valve has not yet added the option to hold the gun with the left hand, and the cl_bob commands which adjust how much your gun moves while moving.

On the surface, it might seem that these features are minor, but they have existed since the days of CS 1.6. Many veteran players are wondering why Valve still hasn’t added them to the new game. This is a problem because many of them have been playing CS:GO and older versions of the game with these custom commands less than two weeks ago.

The issue extends even to professional play, as some pros like to tweak their experience using said options to make it more comfortable for themselves. Counter-Strike 2 was released last week, so it seems strange that Valve has not added these features to the game by default. Many players agree that the addition of the cl_righthand 0 and cl_bob commands are easy quality-of-life changes for Valve to implement.

Some fans are even saying that the fact these commands are not yet added to the title means that CS2 is an incomplete game that should have stayed in beta for a little while longer. Perhaps small issues like this compound and become the reason why CS2 still hasn’t surpassed CS:GO in terms of player numbers.

However, the addition of these commands is likely low on Valve’s propriety list. Currently, CS2 still has some bugs to fix, and considering IEM Sydney starts on October 15, the company will likely focus on fixing these issues instead of working on the commands.
