Team Heretics has unveiled its new VALORANT roster, containing three ex-pros from the CS:GO scene. The organization just defeated Raftel and is back on track to regaining its reign.

Team Heretics Unveils New Roster

In the wake of its unexciting 2021 performance, the Spanish esports organization Team Heretics made some major changes to its VALORANT lineup. The team was once a powerhouse in competitive VALORANT and hopes to reassert itself as one of the esports leaders.

Yesterday, January 10, Team Heretics revealed its new roster for the 2022 VALORANT Champions Tour. The organization has introduced some big changes and will field several first-person shooter veterans with years of esports experience in other titles, such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

Felix “al0rante” Brandi and Christian “lowel” Garcia Antoran will remain on board as staples. They will be accompanied by three new players – the Danish CS:GO pros Jesper “tenzki” Plougmann Mikalski and Daniel “mertz” Mertz and the  Spanish CS:GO elite Jose Antonio “Bromas” Ramos Gonzalez.

The Heretics Are Back On Track

Heretics’ heyday was in 2020 when they were a force to be reckoned with. So much so that they won the gold medal in 10 of the 11 EMEA events they participated in that year. Many considered them to be the best European VALORANT team and most people believed that the Heretics are set for a long reign.

Yet, this didn’t turn out to be the case. Heretics began their 2021 campaign strongly and qualified for the first Masters event. However, they ended up second. After that, everything went downhill for the Spanish team. While they are by no means the worst, the Heretics were far from achieving the spectacular successes they were known for.

The roster change demonstrates Team Heretics’ commitment to regaining their glory. And they seem to be on the right track – the team just had its first VCT 2022 match yesterday where it defeated its opponents from Raftel. The resounding success lifted the spirits of Team Heretics fans and many esports fans hope that the Spanish team will once again reign supreme on the VALORANT scene.
