Zekken Signs Deal with Razer

Razer is by far one of the most popular gaming peripherals and hardware brands out there. The company has been a leader in the market for many years and to help spread its name, it often hires professional players who with the brand to improve its products and popularize them.

Such is the case with VALORANT player Zachary “zekken” Patrone who recently signed a contract with Razer, which will see him assist with testing and developing new products. The young Sentinels player will also receive a range of the brand’s esports-focused peripherals including keyboards, mice, and headsets.

“Zekken’s passion, dedication, and exceptional skills embody Razer’s core values,” commented about the deal Jeff Chau, Director of Global Esports at Razer. “Starting from Silver in VALORANT, his journey to becoming one of the world’s top duelists is an inspiration to aspiring gamers around the globe. We are confident his dedication and positive attitude will resonate deeply with our Razer community,” he further explained.

It’s a Big Deal for the Young Player

At just 18 years of age, zekken has already made quite a name for himself, which earned him a deal with the gaming hardware and peripherals brand. The player began competing in VALORANT in 2020 and at age 16, he joined North American esports organization XSET. In 2022, zekken helped the team reach a top-six placement at VALORANT Champions and take home $60 000.

In May of last year, zekken joined Sentinels. Although the team had somewhat mixed results in 2023, they seem to have started off 2024 much better. Recently Sentinels got into the VCT Americas Kickoff playoffs, which eventually led to them getting the top spot of the tournament and earning a place at the Masters Madrid, which starts next week.

With this deal, zekken joins an extensive number of players and esports organizations on Razer’s commercial roster. The gaming brand has acquired contracts with the likes of four-time League of Legends World Champion, Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok. Razer also works with various world-famous esports organizations such as MOUZ, CGN Esports, and Ninjas in Pyjamas.
