DetonatioN FocusMe has acquired the South Korean player Lee “Yaharong” Chan-ju to fill the vacant mid laner spot left after Lee “Aria” Ga-eul’s leave.

Yaharong Moves to the LJL

The Japanese professional esports organization DetonatioN FocusMe is refilling the manpower of its League of Legends team. In December last year, the team parted ways with its mid lane player Lee “Aria” Ga-eul. Since then it has been on the lookout for a new talented athlete to fill the vacant slot. It has now found the perfect substitute in the face of the young South Korean elite Lee “Yaharong” Chan-ju.

This is an important moment for the Japanese organization as it will once again be able to compete but it’s also a big change of pace for Yaharong for whom this will be the first time he will play outside of South Korea.

The new acquisition will get his chance to shine on February 11 when the League of Legends Japan League begins. The league is yet to announce its schedule so it’s still unknown which will be DetonatioN FM’s first opponent.

The New Mid Laner Has More Than Five Years of Competitive Experience

Despite only being 21-years-old, Yaharong already has more than five years of competitive experience. He started playing League of Legends esports in 2016 and within a year already made his name known. In 2017 Yaharong joined Jin Air Green Wings and played with them for a while. In 2019 the team was relegated to Challengers Korea.

Yaharong left Jin Air Green Wings in November 2020 and a few months later joined Fredit BRION – his last team before moving to DetonatioN FM. As a part of Fredit BRION, Yaharong shared his role with two other players: Lee “Chieftain” Jae-yub, and Kim “Lava” Tae-hoon.  Because of this, he couldn’t see as much play as he hoped to.

In 2021, Fredit BRION had a mediocre performance. During both the spring and summer seasons of the League of Legends Champions Korea the team achieved five victories against thirteen losses which got it to tenth and ninth place respectively.
