  • He will arrive with Season 17 and will be the oldest Legend in the game
  • Ballistic has an interesting passive, giving him a slot for a third weapon
  • Some information about him was already leaked a few days ago by EA themselves

Respawn Entertainment is finally adding a new character to Apex Legends after missing out to do so in Season 16.

Respawn Reveal Newest Legend

Apex Legends has the reputation of adding new playable characters with each new season. However, the game’s devs broke that rule a few months ago when they failed to introduce a new Legend to the battlefield, leaving many fans to want a new character. Their hopes have finally been answered as Apex developer Respawn Entertainment has officially unveiled its new Apex Legends character that’s set to debut at the start of the next season.

His name is August Brinkman, also known as Ballistic. He was revealed in the latest “Story from the Outlands” trailer and described as a veteran from the Thunderdome Games era, Ballistic adds decades of experience to the roster of Legends and will be introduced in the game’s Season 17 Arsenal.

When Ballistic enters Apex, he will most certainly be the oldest playable character in the roster, considering he is 63 years old. He has already played in the Thunderdome Games as a younger man, and now he is rejoining to stop his own son from competing.

What Does Ballistic Bring to the Game?

Considering Respawn Entertainment did not add a new character in the previous season, it was speculated the devs would reveal a new legend for Season 17 of the game. In fact, just a few days before the official reveal, Respawn accidentally leaked Ballistic, as well as some additional information and content that’s coming to Apex Legends’ new season.

Now we finally have detailed information bout the gray-haired legend, who is of the Assault category. Here’s a short overview of his abilities:

  • Passive: Weapons Sling – this will allow the legend to carry three weapons and can be accessed through the inventory. It’s important to note that the weapon sling weapon cannot take attachments.
  • Tactical: Smart Bullet – shoots a projectile that debuffs the enemy. Enemies’ guns will start to heat up as they shoot, causing them to deal damage to the user. Holding the Tactical will allow it to lock on to a target.
  • Ultimate: Weapon Enhancer – buffs nearby teammates, giving them faster reloads, unarmed move speed, and Infinite Ammo.

Players can play Ballistic when Apex Legends’ new season starts on May 9. We are waiting for a gameplay trailer to drop on May 1, which will give us more information about Ballistic.
