  • Ubisoft announced a new operator for the upcoming Operation Vector Glare
  • The Belgian attacker will have a gadget that blocks defenders’ line of sight if properly used
  • R6 will also receive some new game modes and its first new map in three years

Rainbow Six: Siege’s newest Operation Vector Glare will bring a new attacker from Belgium with an interesting gadget, as well as a ton of other changes.

R6 to Have a New Operator Soon

Ubisoft recently released more information about Rainbow Six: Siege’s upcoming Operation Vector Glare. The update will feature a new map, which is huge news considering R6 players haven’t had a new arena to play in three years.

R6’s newest update will also bring a new attacking operator, codenamed Sens. Néon Ngoma Mutombo, as his real name goes, is an operator from Belgium whose gadget we have already seen in action in his trailer. It’s called the ROU Projector, and it is a wheel-like device that deposits small projectors on the ground.

“When thrown or sent rolling, the ROU drops a line of projectors behind it, which activate to create a wall of light,” Sens’ wiki page reads. “This light wall completely obscures anything behind it, making it ideal for cutting off the Defender’s line of sight, and providing cover for the Attackers.”

And here are Sens’ weapons and loadout:

  • Primary: New POF-9 Assault Rifle, 417 DMR
  • Secondary: SDP-9 (Mozzie and Gridlocks pistol) and Gonne-6
  • Gadget: ROU Projector System

What Else Do We Know About R6’s Next Operation?

Operation Vector Glare will include many new features. Aside from the newest attacking operator, R6 will also have a new map – the first one to be added to the game in over three years. It will be located in Greece and will only be playable on Team Deathmatch.

Ubisoft will also be adding a new system for Ranked that will do away with placement games. Players will start in Copper and work their way up, keeping in mind that every tier will be divided by a mere 100 MMR.

Additionally, permanent Arcade modes will come to the game in S4, rotating every week to keep things fresh.

The game is also slated to receive a shooting range mode, similar to what one would see in VALORANT or Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. There will also be efforts to help onboarding with in-game operator tips, which will show how different gadgets work.

Operation Vector Glare will arrive on June 7.
