The Top 8 Wild Rift NA Teams Will Clash Live

With the COVID-19 pandemic having subsided a bit, many esports events are looking to return to LAN. Some of the newer esports titles, however, are yet to have an inaugural LAN event. This is the case with League of Legends: Wild Rift in North America.

The Wild Rift North America Series (WNS), hosted by Wisdom Gaming, will be the first live tournament the game has had in the region. It is scheduled to run between April 29 and May 1 and will take place at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. Wisdom Gaming even revealed that live audiences will be allowed on-site.

Fans can book tickets and go to see some of the best Wild Rift teams in North America play live. As of the time of this writing, only two teams have qualified for the event, with those being Immortals and Sentinels. The third Major, which begins today, will decide the next four teams and the LCQ, scheduled for April 8-10, will provide the last two.

The Best Teams Will Advance to the Global Championship Icons

The WNS will take place at the Huntington Bank Rotunda on the second floor of the Mall of America. Fans can watch the action for free although seats are limited.

The event will have a total of eight teams competing over a prize pool of $80,000 and a spot in the upcoming Global Championship Icons 2022 competition. The top teams will secure a place in the latter event’s play-in-stage while the winner will get directly to the group stage. The Global Championship Icons is a global tournament that will take place in Europe in the summer of 2022.

Chad Smeltz, the product lead for World Rift Esports North America and Oceania, said that Riot Games is thrilled to team up with Wisdom Gaming for the launch of the first Wild Rift LAN event in North America. He said:

“The competitive experience for our players within season one has been thrilling to witness. We are confident that the WNS season one Championship event will only amplify the success we’ve seen with the tournament and within the community.”

Wild Rift is League of Legends’ mobile version that has quickly grown to be one of the powerhouses in the world of mobile esports. The game quickly surpassed its PC counterpart in certain Asian countries and attracted many new players with its tempting prize pools.
