- Team Spirit had two consecutive draws against Xtreme Gaming and BetBoom Team
- This effectively put an end to Spirit’s spectacular winning streak
- Despite that, Yatoro still remains positive about Spirit’s upcoming matches
After Xtreme Gaming ended Spirit’s 21-series win streak, team’s Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk talked about what caused this.
Spirit Breaks Win Streak
We are well into BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai and we have already seen some quite interesting matches and turnouts. One of these is the fact that Team Spirit has had two draws against Xtreme Gaming and BetBoom Team which has effectively put a stop to Team Spirit’s 21-series win streak.
All good things must come to an end and so did Spirit’s remarkable series of victories. Naturally, many fans wanted to know what finally brought down the powerhouse that is Spirit, so the team’s Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk went onto Telegram to share his thoughts about what happened.
“So we lost two maps [games] very stupidly and by our own fault,” he wrote. In general, it’s going well. P.S. The second against Bb (BetBoom Team) salted by Denis Larl Sigitov.” The match against BetBoom’s squad was quite a spectacle as it lasted for 77 minutes and was a constant back-and-forth between both teams.
Why Did Spirit’s Streak End?
It should not be too surprising that Yatoro pointed out his teammates as the weak link in the Spirit’s strategy. Larl’s Pangolier had a bad start against Danil “gpk” Skutin’s Templar Assassin in the mid lane, leading the former player to make numerous misplays in the match and not have much of an impact on it. Larl’s Pangolier only dealt a measly 22K damage to enemy heroes throughout the entire game. For comparison, his teammate Myroslav “Mira” Kolpakov had a total of 20.5K hero damage on Snapfire.
Despite that, Yatoro seemed to be optimistic about Team Spirit’s run at the event. BetBoom Dacha 2024 Dubai was announced in late 2023 as one of two Dota 2 events that the organizers will hold this year. This first one will last for one more week, meaning that Spirit will have more chances to score victories.
The team is set to take on Azure Ray later today on February 7. On the final day of the group stage, Team Spirit will be going up against the only other team that has won two The Internationals in its history, OG, which promises to be quite the spectacle.
