  • The D2 Hustlers join Wildcard as their new Dota 2 roster
  • The team had an impressive score before the signing
  • This is a risk for Wildcard, as the team is still rather new

With the signing of the D2 Hustlers, Wildcard Gaming becomes yet another organization to enter the Dota 2 competitive sphere.

The Hustlers Sign with Wildcard

Many new organizations and sponsors have been signing rosters as the 2022 Dota Pro Circuit is starting. New battle passes and esports leagues are being established, and Wildcard Games wants a part of the action. The organization has recently signed the North America team D2 Hustlers.

D2 Hustlers, or more commonly known as just the Hustlers, is a North American team that formed ahead of the second regional league season in the 2021 DPC. They originally played under the name OQ (Open Qualifier) Hustlers, later changing it to CQ (Closed Qualifier) Hustlers. The team managed to win a spot in the lower division for the season, and then they decided to change the name to what is currently.

Speaking of the lower division, the team went through it with an impressive 7-0 record, which earned them a promotion to the upper division for the opening Tour of the 2022 DPC. However, there are changes to the current roster, compared to the one that competed last season.

The Roster Composition

The team’s composition has changed a lot since it started its activities. Of the original five players, only offlaner Cedric “Davai Lama” Deckmyn remains. Now the veteran is joined by former 4 Zoomers and TEAM TEAM rep Samuel “Sammyboy” Anderson, Black N Yellow core duo Jose Esau “esK” Perez Coronel, and Luke “YamSun” Wang, and also Creepwave support player Aleksandar “Alexxo” Diklić. All of the players have previous experience in the DPC.

Wildcard is known mostly for games like Rainbow Six Siege and League of Legends. The decision to sign a Dota 2 roster comes the organization stepped away from Valorant. The Dota 2 team marks yet another game in the expansion of Wildcard’s portfolio of games.

Signing the Hustlers could be viewed as a risk for Wildcard, as the team is still unproven, despite the experience each member has. These players have not yet worked together, so it will be interesting to see how they match up against other teams of the NA’s upper-division. Wildcard is already on the back foot after losing to Team Undying, with a current score of 0-2, so they have some ground to make up if they want a shot at making the Winter Major.

From our 5 star review…

“In fact, we would argue that Bitcasino’s esports product is one of the best we have experienced. It’s simple, clear-cut, and offers a variety of products and options that other platforms are failing to deliver on.”
