- The game was [previously set to release on November 1 this year
- This is the third such delay in WM’s development, but at least the released visuals look good
After Warzone Mobile’s devs previously said that the game will launch sometime in the spring of next year, leakers found the exact date for it.
Game’s Release Date Revealed
Despite Call of Duty being one of the biggest video game franchises in history, spanning multiple titles across all major platforms over the past few years, the series has been lacking in one regard – its availability on mobile devices. As mobile gaming becomes more and more prominent, large companies explore the medium to further expand their reach.
However, Activision has just one such title, aptly named Call of Duty Mobile, which has been the only game of the franchise for mobile since 2019. However, the company has been developing Warzone Mobile for quite some time, and fans now have a concrete date for when it’s going to be released.
According to “’Leakers on Duty”, the game will arrive on April 30, 2024, information that is corroborated by the game’s listing on App Stores. Although it was already known that the game will come sometime in the spring of next year, as per what was said at the COD: Next event, a specific date was never given.
As the leakers’ tweet reads, the release date of the game was changed from November 1, 2023, to the new one. This marks Warzone Mobile’s third delay since the game was announced. The initial information announced by the COD: Next event caused a stir of disappointment among eager players who were annoyed that they would have to wait many more months. However, at least thanks to the recent leak, they have a specific date to wait for and keep the devs accountable if they make another delay.
But delays are not the only thing that bothers the fandom. Many players have been wondering if the current CoD Mobile will remain available after Warzone Mobile is released. The answer to that comes from other leaks that suggest that CoD Mobile will be removed once the new game launches in the spring of 2024.
Although some fans may be disappointed by this, at least they can take solace in the fact that Warzone Mobile will look way better, as you can see from this Rebirth Island gameplay video. The game has undergone extensive polishing to enhance the overall gameplay and responsiveness. Despite the game still being in beta, it sports quite impressive pre-registration numbers and decent feedback.
All in all, it seems that the longer wait will be worth it for hardcore CoD fans.
