  • CoD Warzone and Vanguard have huge mid-season updates
  • They include new maps and game modes for both games, as well as a reworked Rebirth Island
  • Both games are also getting Snoop Dogg as a new cosmetic bundle in the store

Call of Duty: Warzone and Vanguard players will soon be treated to an exciting mid-season update with new maps, modes, and… Snoop Dogg.

New Mid-Season Update Coming

The Call of Duty franchise’s current flagships are Warzone and Vanguard, and the two games will be getting a mid-seasonal content dump that adds a reworked version of Rebirth Island to Warzone, new maps, and modes to Vanguard. Curiously, the update will also feature the legendary west-coast rapper Snoop Dogg, Activision announced on Monday.

“From a new mode featuring vehicular combat to Rebirth Island’s biggest update since its launch, Operators may need to call for backup even with all of Task Force Yeti on the scene… and as the smoke clears, you may even find the OG known for going under “deep cover” Snoop Dogg,” said Activision in the official announcement.

The new patch goes live for Vanguard at 12 AM EST on March 22, and at the same time on March 23 for Warzone.

What Should Players Expect?

Rebirth Island is getting a significant rework that adds several new points of interest, including new shipping Docks, Prison Courtyard, and Stronghold, as well as Redeploy Balloons and Weapon Trade Stations. The map also receives a ton of new game modes – the Rebirth Resurgence Solo mode. It will let Solo players compete in a survival deathmatch where they can earn respawns.

Other modes include Rebirth Payload and Rebirth Blood Money. The first mode will see Operators escort or attempt to stop trucks while they travel on a set path on Rebirth Island. It will be a 12v12 experience, seeing up to three full squads duke it out. Meanwhile, the Blood Money mode is similar to Plunder, but Operators are guaranteed a significant payout for Kills even if their target has little to no money on them.

Vanguard will get a new Alpine-themed map. It’s a large 12v12 mode that involves trekking across a snow-covered mountainside with new vehicles to build a formidable loadout. Players will fight over for control of key points across the frozen landscape. Operators can choose to respawn at the captured base or at any other captured points on the map, in addition to spawning in on their fellow squad members.

On the cosmetics front, probably the most significant change is the inclusion of Snoop Dogg as a new cosmetic bundle in the store. As well as the iconic rapper, the update will also be adding the Armaguerra 43 sub-machine gun to both games, which can be unlocked for free using challenges or by getting the store bundle.

The mid-season update is indeed a very extensive one and considering there might not be a new CoD title this year, it will have to do to satisfy fans’ cravings.
