Valve is currently developing multiple new video games, according to Greg Coomer. Fans hope that their favorite franchises will get sequels.
Coomer Teases about Exciting New Games
Valve announced that it is working on several new video game titles. Not much was shared about them but it was teased that all of them are worth looking forward to.
Valve hasn’t released a new big title in a while. The only Valve game fans have received in recent times is Aperture Desk Job, a small title created to help console first-timers get the hang of the Steam Deck controls. Yet, despite being set in the same universe as the beloved Portal franchise, Aperture Desk Job is a far cry from what people expect from a company as big as Valve.
Fans need to worry no more, though, as Greg Coomer, a prominent Valve designer, spoke with Axios, teasing that the company is simultaneously working on several new titles.
“There are multiple games in development right now at Valve, and I think they’re pretty exciting ones,” Coomer said.
The developer didn’t reveal a lot but his words are enough to spark hope in the heart of every passionate Valve fan.
Fans Are Eagerly Awaiting Valve’s New Title
Despite being a beloved game developer, Valve has met with its fair share of fan disgruntlement. Many people have noted that the company rarely writes trilogies, some jokingly, others begrudgingly. Even worse, since the game hasn’t produced a single new title since 2020, people have started to question whether a new Valve game is coming.
It looks like fans’ worries weren’t needed, though as Coomer’s statement implies some exciting things for the future. For sure, many fans are hoping for new installments in some of Valve’s best franchises. However, even a new title will be welcome as long as it is as exciting as Coomer promises.
Valve is one of the biggest names in the world of gaming and esports. The company is behind some of the best competitive titles as well as behind some of the deepest story-driven franchises. It has produced fan-favorites such as Team Fortress 2, Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Half-Life, and Portal.
Regardless of what Valve’s new titles are going to be like, fans can definitely expect to see something influential.
