  • XSET defeats NRG with a final score of 2-0 at the finals of Group A
  • The team remains undefeated in the group
  • It will go up against 100 Thieves next week for a chance to remain undefeated in Challengers Two

XSET demonstrated immense fortitude when they went up against NRG Esports, eventually winning a 2-0 and the Group A.

XSET Emerges Victorious from Group A

The VCT Challengers Two is already in full swing and teams are duking it out for a chance to win a part of the $200 000 prize pool. The event will last until June 26, but teams are already falling. On the contrary, the event has produced winners. One such is XSET, which now stands as the only undefeated team in Group A after a 2–0 after it defeated NRG Esports.

Both teams were leading the group at the start of the day with one win each against Ghost gaming for XSET, and one against TSM in favor of NRG. However, every competition had only one winner, which in this case turned out to be XSET.

The best-of-three series that sealed XSET’s domination of Group A started with the team picking Bind, giving them a home turf advantage. Despite that, NRG held their own against their opponents and the score was even by the middle at 6-6. However, XSET began gaining momentum with the first three rounds of the second half.

From this point, it was hard for NRG to keep up and they managed to get only two rounds before the map ended 13–8 in favor of XSET. XSET could not have achieved this decisive victory without their MVP Rory “dephh” Jackson, who had an impressive performance on Breach with a 1.42 K/D.

The first map may have started in a more even way, however, it seems NRG’s luck had run out by the start of the next map – Split. From the start, XSET set a convincing lead with a two-round advantage over their opponents. This lead only continued to grow. NRG put up a valiant resistance, battling for control throughout the second half. However, their efforts were in vain, as XSET kept their strong lead and eventually emerged victorious.

In the end, the scoreboard read 13-9 in favor of XSET, which also meant a 2–0 series and 2–0 in Group A for the team. XSET’s next opponents are 100 Thieves, which they will face on May 28.
