Last-Minute Changes Welcomed by Community

A lot of last-minute preparations have gone in guaranteeing that the first international VALORANT event will go down as a success. The elements of nature aside, Riot Games stepped in to introduce a change that suspended Breeze, a fairly new map, from the competitive pool during the VCT event.

After conferring with pro players globally, in the interest of competitive integrity, Breeze has been removed from the map rotation at Masters Reykjavik.

Considering the overlap with Challenger Playoffs and travel to Iceland, 4 weeks is not enough time to practice a new map.

— VALORANT Champions Tour (@ValorantEsports) May 4, 2021

The decision came after extensive consultation with community members who confirmed that some teams may not have sufficient time to study the map and design successful strategies, that would have effectively put them at a competitive disadvantage.
