TSM Unveils Its Rebuilt VALORANT Roster

in Valorant
January 21, 2022
  • TSM adds Corey “corey” Nigra and Daniel “Rossy” Abedrabbo
  • Corey says he is excited to start playing with the new team
  • TSM hopes the reconstructed roster will help make up for a disappointing 2021

After months of restructuring, TSM has finally completed its VALORANT roster by signing Corey “corey” Nigra and Daniel “Rossy” Abedrabbo.

TSM Acquires Two New Players

The VALORANT Champions Tour is going to start on January 27 and organizations, like 100 Thieves, are frantically trying to fill up their rosters at the last minute. Another organization, seemingly doing things at the last moment, is TSM which recently announced its lineup for the upcoming season. On Thursday, TSM announced they have signed FaZe Clan’s Corey “corey” Nigra and Immortals’ Daniel “Rossy” Abedrabbo.

“Excited to be a part of the TSM family!!” wrote Corey on Twitter. He also expressed his gratitude to FaZe clan for his time spent there, and also thanked everyone who supported him during his switch to VALORANT. Corey saw some success defeating some of the best teams in the North American region while playing for FaZe. However, FaZe was defeated by runners-up Rise and Version1, which resulted in them failing to qualify for Champions.

The two new players will join Matthew “Wardell” Yu, Yassine “Subroza” Taoufik and Aleko “LeviathanAG” Gabuniya for the upcoming competitive season. The trio had a disappointing season, despite having a good start. During the Stage Three Challengers Playoffs in August, TSM earned a top-eight finish, which was far below the organization’s expectations. Because of this, the team was not able to qualify for VCT Masters in Berlin and lost their last chance to earn a spot at an international event in 2021.

TSM Went through Many Changes

Part of TSM’s somewhat lackluster performance last year could be attributed to the many changes the team went through. This led to many of the initial members of the team leaving. Even relative newcomers Braxton “brax” Pierce and Sean “bang” Bezerra did not manage to leave a positive mark on the team.

TSM's changes continue into 2022, but hopefully, the organization has learned its lesson, and under the supervision of its new vice president of esports Dominic Kallas, it will make better choices going forward. Coaches Andrew “aRubyz” Seewer and Austin “Apex” Copeland remain in the organization but are promoted from TSM Academy to head coach and assistant coach, respectively.

In summary, TSM’s VALORANT roster currently looks like this:

  • Matthew “Wardell” Yu
  • Yassine “Subroza” Taoufik
  • Aleko “LeviathanAG” Gabuniya
  • Corey “Corey” Nigra
  • Daniel “Rossy” Abedrabbo
  • Andrew “aRubyz” Seewer (head coach)
  • Austin “Apex” Copeland (assistant coach)

The renewed roster should make its debut on January 27 in the VCT NA Challengers 1 open qualifier.
