Ninjas in Pyjamas Hires a LATAM VALORANT Roster

in Valorant
January 18, 2022
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas hasn’t given up on VALORANT and is coming back with a new roster
  • This time the organization has decided to field a squad of LATAM players
  • The team finished first in the VCT 2022: Brazil Stage One Challenger Closed Qualifier 1, sparking hopes for the future

Ninjas in Pyjamas has signed a new VALORANT roster of LATAM players that is already winning games.

Ninjas in Pyjamas Signs a New Team

The Swedish professional esports organization Ninjas in Pyjamas has revealed its new VALORANT roster. Although it is now clear that the organization isn’t giving up on Riot’s first-person shooter, there are some key differences between NiP’s new lineup and its old one.

Ninjas in Pyjamas’ previous roster employed mainly European players, fitting with the org’s location. However, it has now decided to field a team of South American players for a change.

Ninjas in Pyjamas’ new lineup is comprised of both experienced VALORANT veterans and rising stars. The organization will now seek to bring the team to a professional level and leave its mark in VALORANT esports.

The new team just had its first chance to shine. Its first professional VALORANT games were during the VCT 2022: Brazil Stage One Challenger Closed Qualifier 1 where it took first place.

NiP’s Current VALORANT Lineup

As a big esports organization, Ninjas in Pyjamas isn’t going to settle for anything less than professional. With this in mind, let’s take a look at which players it picked for its new VALORANT team.

Here is the list of Ninjas in Pyjamas’ current VALORANT players:

  • Alexandre “xand” Zizi
  • Walney “Jonn” Reis
  • Benhamin “bnj” Rabinovich
  • Gabriel Luiz “bezn1” da Costa
  • Cauan “cauanzin” Pereira

All of the players are of Brazilian origin, except for bnj who is from Argentine.

Xand is currently taking the role of a team captain. He and bnj are both professional athletes who already have some experience on the field. Xand used to play for FURIA Esports and managed to qualify for last year’s Champions event. Bnj is a former KRÜ Esports player who had reached the VCT Masters Reykjavík event. After that, he was benched and didn’t see a lot of play during the rest of the year.

Although Jonn, bezn1 and cauanzin can’t brag about having the same amount of experience, they are all enthusiastic players that have all participated in various Brazilian events. It will be exciting to see how they develop their skills under NiP’s banner.
