Alliance Benches Its Entire VALORANT Roster

in Valorant
April 21, 2022
  • Alliance’s VALORANT players say the organization benched the entire roster
  • This leaves the organization without an active VALORANT team
  • The players are still under contract but are free to explore new options

Esports organization Alliance has moved its entire VALORANT squad to the inactive roster following a series of defeats.

Alliance Benches All Players

Large roster changes have become somewhat infamous in this year’s competitive VALORANT season. While releasing or benching a player or two is something normal, recently we’ve been seeing entire squads being reformed, like it’s the case with 100 Thieves, who restructured their team for a second time recently.

It looks like Alliance has just done the same and benched their entire VALORANT crew. This information comes from two of the organization’s players Mathias “SEIDER” Seider and Tautvydas “hype” Paldavicius.

The entire @theAllianceGG valorant roster have been allowed to expIore our options i am still under contract with Alliance but i am allowed to explore my options, i am open to any role. DMs are open. Retweets are appreciated ♥️

At the time of writing this article, Alliance has not come out with an official statement on the matter. But if SEIDER and hype are correct, it means that Niels “luckeRRR” Jasiek is also benched. This would be a hard blow for Alliance, considering the organization also benched Sigurd “Zik” Jensen and Enzo “Fearoth” Mestari in late March. The latter went on to play for Fnatic on loan at VCT Masters Stage One Reykjavík.

Fearoth, luckeRRR, and hype had been playing for Alliance since January 2021, and SEIDER and Zik joined the team in October 2021. The five did not manage to qualify for VCT EMEA Stage One Challengers this year because they lost to BIG and Vitality in the closed qualifiers. Alliance’s most recent failure was a loss to Excel, which made the team finish in fourth place at the VRL Northern Europe Polaris Stage One.

What’s Next for the Players and the Team?

With the entire Alliance roster now moved to the inactive roster, the players have to make a plan on what to do next. “I am still under contract with Alliance but I am allowed to explore my options, I am open to any role. DMs are open,” wrote SEIDER on Twitter.

The case for his teammate hype seems to be the same. He is still under contract but is allowed to explore new options.

Hey all!

I’m still under contract with@theAllianceGG, they have allowed me to explore all available options.

Right now, it’s unknown if Alliance will continue to maintain a professional VALORANT team. The organization is still fairly new to Riot Game’s shooter, having made the debut of its team in early 2021. Back then, British esports talent James Banks helped the organization get onto the VALORANT scene, but he left his position as general manager in March, days before the removal of Zig and Fearoth.
