With The Worlds starting next week, Fnatic’s Upset talks about the organization not having enough time to train left.
Upset Complains Fnatic Is Not Training Enough
The start of the 2022 League of Legends World Championship is just a week away and organizations around the world are busy making last-minute preparations and trying to squeeze in a few more training sessions. However, it seems that not everyone is busy with developing strategies and getting more training done. According to Fnatic’s star AD carry Elias “Upset” Lipp, the LEC’s third seed has yet to scrim for the tournament.
In a recent stream with League personality Nick “LS” De Cesare, Upset was training with him when they both started talking about Fnatic’s upcoming trip to Mexico City in two days. The 22-year-old player said the main team is leaving for North America this coming Saturday, September 24, but acknowledged that Fnatic has not yet skirmished with any other teams.
Why Is Fnatic Not Scirming Enough?
To make matters worse, when LS asked whether European teams were “scrimming against each other endlessly in a triangle” like NA teams, Upset said that other teams are probably playing against each other, but Fnatic does not due to a plethora of different possible reasons. “I don’t know, to be honest, I think other teams are scrimming with each other,” Upset said.
Upset said he is not sure what the team is doing, trying to explain the lack of skirming due to the long split. I think it was a long split [and] we’re taking a break, I guess, not sure,” he said. ”I think other things are better for different people, maybe, but it was a bit hard with the patch as well.”
Upset mentioned that because the Worlds 2022 will be played on Patch 12.18, which brought some crucial meta changes, it’s essential for teams to do some intense last-minute training. Fnatic will have time to scrim once they get to North America, but with the patch landing on September 20, other teams have already had some time to explore the changes. LS couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation, only responding with a “Wait, it’s actually so f***ing scuffed.”
With the Worlds 2022 play-in stage starting on Thursday, September 29, Fnatic will have a very limited time to train. The team will be taking part in the second match of the day against the LCS’ third seed, Evil Geniuses.
