EA Might Have Accidentally Leaked New Apex Legends Content

in Uncategorized
April 21, 2023
  • A now-deleted key image showed a gray-haired character holding a new pistol
  • Fans concluded that this is a yet-to-be-announced new Legend
  • According to data miners, the character might be called Arsenal

A recent EA article about Apex’s upcoming Veiled collection event showed an image of an unknown character holding the Smart Gun from Titanfall, but it has already been taken down.

EA Leaks Info

Gaming leaks are nothing new and we often see new content being revealed through third parties and other side sources. It’s almost unheard of that a game’s publisher would themselves leak sensitive information about upcoming updates, but it seems that’s what Apex Legends’ EA has done recently.

This happened in the official article about Apex’s upcoming Veiled collection event. Although the event will introduce a new Prestige skin and finisher animation for Caustic, fans’ attention was directed towards the article’s banner. It has already been removed, but for a few hours, the banner showed a gray-haired figure that does not look like any of the current legends, suggesting that this may be the game’s new playable character.

The image of the as-of-yet-unannounced character was quickly taken down and replaced by one featuring already-known legends. However, this only adds to the speculations that EA does not want fans to see the probable upcoming legend just yet. The key art also appeared to show the character holding a smart pistol from the Titanfall series.

What Do We Know about the Possible New Legend?

Although the image was quickly taken down, many fans already grabbed screenshots of the key art. Additionally, well-known data miner KralRindo has deduced that the new season will likely be called Arsenal by guessing from the image’s URL. It’s possible that Arsenal could be the name of the legend instead, but that cannot be determined at the moment.

There is not much else that we can get from the image. What we see is a gray-haired gentleman, noticeably older than most of the current cast. He’s wearing a duster coat, which when combined with his pistol gives him somewhat of an Old Western gunslinger vibe.

Speaking of the pistol – many fans agree that it bears a striking resemblance to Titanfall’s Smart Pistol. It’s possible that the weapon would be making its appearance in Apex, but it’s currently unknown if this Smart Pistol will be unique to the new hero’s kit, ground loot, or a care package weapon.

EA staff may have intentionally leaked the image to generate some hype for the upcoming Apex updates, or it could have just been a simple mistake. Either way, fans will have to wait for more information to be released to see if their current speculations are true.
