  • Tyrant defeats VVV Esports with an impressive 3-0 score
  • They finish the whole tournament with just one lost map
  • This marks the first major victory for the team in almost two years

Tyrant Esports wins the first-ever Call of Duty Mobile Garena Youth Challengers, marking a glamorous comeback on the competitive scene.

The Team Dominates the Garena Youth Challengers

Tyrant Esports went through months of ups and downs in the pursuit of the title, but the team finally managed to deliver by winning the grand finals of the first-ever Garena Youth Challengers. The team dominated VVV Esports with an impressive 3-0 score which brought them the title and a cash prize of $2 000 (around Php100,000.00).

The win over VVV was not the only impressive feat Tyrant accomplished. In fact, the team managed to keep up their inertia through the whole tournament, finishing with just one map loss. Their final score was an impressive 12-1 win/loss ratio.

Tyrant’s victory, however, did not come as easily as the final scores might suggest. VVV gave the champions a real run for their money, playing toe to toe in every single game. Tyrant managed to win a hard-fought game over at Standoff in Hardpoint 150-110, but they still had to dig deep to come up with an 11th round, 6-5 win in Search and Destroy.

After that, Tyrant succeeded with an improbable comeback in Domination at Takeoff, winning 150-141 after trailing by 40 points during the game to complete the 3-0 sweep. The definitive MVP of the team, Jerico “YungJ” Vibora, contributed immensely with his average score of 1990 per game and a KDA of 1.28.

This Is Tyrant’s First Major Title in 2 Years

This win marks the end of a two-year period of no success for Tyrant. The last time the organization had a major victory was in May 2020 at the PPGL’s CODM tournament. This success is due to the organization’s relentless pursuit of talented and high-profile players from different teams. This doctrine helped the team tackle challenges like PH CODM juggernauts Blacklist Ultimate and Smart Omega, as well as go head-to-head with some of the rising teams in the CODM scene.

The future for Tyrant Esports now looks bright. After a subpar Season 1 performance, which saw them drop out of the stage of 32 and not even qualify in the event’s group stages, the team is positioned to make a big impact at the upcoming Garena Masters Season 2.
