Twitch Rivals Apex Legends tournament was planned to start today. However, the $50,000 tournament was rescheduled to start on October 7. The reschedule was necessary as many players are still experiencing game crashes or lag among other issues within the game.

Apex Legends Tournament Planned for Today Is Rescheduled to October 7

A Twitch Rivals Apex Legends tournament that was initially scheduled to start today was pushed back to October. The $50,000 tournament was planned to start today but instead is delayed until October 7, 2021.

A prime reason for the delay is technical issues related to game crashes and lag among other problems. Although a patch seeking to eliminate those issues was released earlier this week, many players are still experiencing difficulties.

Considering that the game crashes and other technical issues impact private lobbies, the best decision was to reschedule the tournament. Besides the change of date for the tournament, additional balancing restrictions were introduced.

The main reason for the change in balance restrictions were complaints from previous tournaments where the rules allowed pro players to completely dominate the game. The new rules introduce a restriction for having 1 pro player on a team. The pro player can be previously or currently signed. There can only be 1 player on the team that was previously a finalist in any official pro circuit.

Under the new rules, a team will have one Apex content creator, one variety creator and one pro player. The variety creator will be a player who is either new to Apex or has taken a long break from playing the game and is now back or a player that enjoys Apex from time to time. On the other hand, the Apex Creator is expected to be a player who is focused on Apex content and has such experience.

Hopefully, the new restrictions will find the right balance in the game. For the moment, we will just have to wait and see once the tournament starts in a couple of weeks.
