Tundra Esports parts ways with its captain Adrian “Fata” Trinks right before an important tournament with Fata saying he has been kicked out.

Fata Claims He Was Kicked Out

Just as the second Tour of the Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) Western Europe (WEU) 2021-22: Division 1 is approaching, Tundra Esports decided to release its captain/position five support Adrian “Fata” Trinks. In an announcement on Twitter, the organization said that it came to this difficult decision in order to have “the best possible chemistry” moving forward, in an attempt to improve the team’s performance going forward. “Ahead of the DPC Tour 2, we have decided to make a roster change. We can confirm that Adrian “Fata” Trinks will be leaving Tundra,” the statement reads.

However, the problem is the other side sees things differently. Just a few minutes before the official statement from Tundra came out, Fata claimed on his personal Twitter that he had been kicked from the organization, much to the disbelief of many of his followers.

So, Who Is Right and Who Is Wrong?

Following Fata’s initial statement about being kicked, the pro player made another tweet, elaborating on the situation. He explained the decision was made by the players of Tundra Esports. Fata also explained that there were attempts to kick other players from the team, to make space for the player currently replacing Fata, but he declined those.

Fata also announced he will be taking a break from professional Dota 2 since he does not want to start from scratch.

Tundra Esports’ roster change is somewhat of a surprise, considering the team’s decent performance over the past six months. The team managed to secure wins in the ESL One Fall 2021, the OGA Dota PIT Season 5, and third place in the DPC WEU 2021-22 Tour 1: Division 1, and was considered one of the best teams in Western Europe.

Interestingly, Tundra is not the only Dota 2 organization replacing captains at the last minute. On the other side of Europe, Natus Vincere parted ways with GeneRaL right before an important tournament. Internal issues and “bad chemistry” were also cited as reasons for GeneRaL’s departure.

Fata leaves a lasting legacy in Tundra Esports, which signed the team in January 2021. With Fata’s help, the team slowly climbed to the tier 1 circuit of Western Europe, only narrowly missing The International 10 as it lost to OG in the grand final of the WEU qualifiers. Tundra Esports said its new captain will be announced soon.
