- The organization revealed its new team includes two CS veterans
- They will lead a core of young but very promising players
- TSM was originally supposed to field a team earlier this year, but complications delayed it
TSM has revealed its new CS team, featuring veterans such as JACKZ and valde, and is making a return to the competitive scene for the first time since 2016.
TSM Unveils New Roster
Team SoloMid, commonly referred to by the abbreviated name TSM, is a big European esports organization that hosts teams in many titles such as League of Legends, Dota 2, Apex Legends, Valorant, Hearthstone, Fortnite, and more. Oddly enough, however, the organization lacks a squad for one of the most popular esports out there – CS:GO.
All of this changed today, however, as TSM announced they are fielding a brand new Counter-Strike team. It will feature veteran players such as former G2 rifler Audric “JACKZ” Jug and ENCE rifler Valdemar “valde” Bjørn Vangså, which confirms previous rumors about the squad. Here’s the full list of players and staff that will make up TSM’s new team:
- Audric “JACKZ” Jug
- Valdemar “valde” Bjørn Vangså
- Timofey “interz” Yakushin
- Cai “CYPHER” Watson
- Mădălin-Andrei “MoDo” Mirea
- Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam (head coach)
- Lambert “Lambert” Prigent (assistant coach)
Cai “CYPHER” Watson, who impressed as a part of Into the Breach’s recent run to the BLAST Premier Paris Major quarter-finals. Meanwhile, 23-year-old Timofey “interz” Yakushin used to be Cloud9’s key support player and is expected to remain in the same position in TSM. The roster is completed by Romanian AWPer Mădălin-Andrei “MoDo” Mirea, the 20-year-old most recently playing for Nexus.
Interestingly, TSM used to have a Counter-Strike team that boasted some notable names to go through their ranks including the likes of Sean “seang@res” Gares, Hunter “SicK” Mims, Timothy “autimatic” Ta, and Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken. However, in 2016, the players decided to part ways after TSM released seang@res due to his involvement in the Open Letter to the Professional eSports Association. The organization has not decided to go back to CS up until the announcement of the current roster.
That being said, there were multiple rumors that TSM is planning to reveal a CS team recently. One report by Dust2.us said that the new players were supposed to debut with their new roster in CCT Online Finals 2. However, the organization ended up pulling away from the tournament after a dispute regarding verbal agreements made by TSM and coach Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam, who was said to be the architect of the new lineup.
Despite that, it seems that the organization and the coach have found out an amicable solution as the Frenchman is currently the roster’s head coach. This reunites him with CS veteran JACKS and returns him to active coaching after last working for G2 last year.
Although TSM revealed their new CS roster that is filled with so much veteran talent, the team currently has no events lined up as they are not on the team list for ESL Pro League Season 18. However, they might make their debut in an online tournament or cup in the near future.
