  • The popular streamer was part of Modern Warfare II’s latest teaser trailer
  • Activision Blizzard is hyping up the game with popular faces and many promises
  • Leaks suggest interesting new features coming to Modern Warfare II

Activision Blizzard recruited popular streamer TimTheTatman in its new trailer for CoD: Modern Warfare II, amongst many leaks about the game’s features.

TimTheTatman is in MWII’s Newest Teaser Trailer

Infinity Ward is busy making the final touches of the revamped CoD: MW2 title, aptly named Modern Warfare II. The game will be available from October 28 and the studio is already putting out trailers to generate hype for the game. Interestingly, the latest teaser featured none other than popular streamer TimTheTatman talking about sniper scopes.

Although the popular streamer will not be a character in the game, he was featured riding in a military truck alongside well-known Modern Warfare characters Ghost and captain John Price, making some dad jokes about no-scoping.

The trailer features the two CoD characters, with Ghost asking Price about something, to which the latter simply responds with “Don’t worry, mate. He’s with me.” The camera then pans around showing TimTheTatman himself in full military gear – chest rig, sniper rifle, and all – pulling the scope off his weapon and telling a bad yet hilarious pun about no-scoping.

The original Modern Warfare 2 from 2009 is the most popular and critically acclaimed CoD title, therefore Activision Blizzard has big shoes to fill to adequately pay homage to the revamped title. This is why it’s doing everything it can to generate more hype about the game, which is scheduled to be released on October 28, including employing the services of popular streamers like TimTheTatman.

MWII Hype and Leaks

The first official information we got about Modern Warfare II was when Infinity Ward, the game’s devs, revealed the logo of the game in late April. Given the title is a direct sequel to 2019’s Modern Warfare, the logo bears resemblance to the previous “MW” style with roman numerals used instead to distinguish it from the 2009 original.

However, we quickly had some leaks from popular industry insider Tom Henderson that showed MW2 maps coming to Warzone 2 as POIs. Warzone 2 is currently in development alongside MWII and we may see further integration between the two games when they come out.

In terms of game modes that are expected to be in the game, one can think of the many classic MW2 modes like team deathmatch, domination, sabotage, etc. However, according to one leak, the revamped game will feature an Escape from Tarkov-esque playlist. “The objective of the mode is to accumulate loot within several separate maps, before successfully extracting,” the source claimed.

According to Tom Henderson, this game mode has “been in some form of development since early 2018 (so technically 4.5 years by the time it releases)”, making it one of the most ambitious modes to coincide with a new installment.

With many leaks teasing the new game, as well as the inclusion of popular faces like TimTheTatman, Activision Blizzard has a lot of hype it has to meet when it reveals Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II on June 8.
