Team Vitality to Change Three Members of its CS:GO Roster
French Counter-Strike news outlet 1pv.fr has reported that the French esports organization Team Vitality has made some significant changes to its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster.
According to the news, Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen, Emil “Magisk” Reif and coach Danny “zonic” Sørensen will be joining Vitality in the shoes of Richard “shox” Papillon, Jayson “Kyojin” Nguyen and head coach Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam.
The three new Vitality players are all coming from the competitor organization Astralis where they were benched after the team was eliminated from the PGL Stockholm event by none other than Team Vitality itself. Dupreeh, Magisk and zonic’s contracts are all set to expire in 2021 so by joining Vitality, they’ve effectively secured an organization for the next season.
Astralis, in turn, replaced dupreeh, Magisk and zonic with coach Alexander “ave” Holdt from North and Complexity players Benjamin “blameF” Bremer and Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke.
Vitality Goes International
Team Vitality hasn’t yet confirmed the changes officially but making some roster shifts definitely makes sense. Vitality recently was eliminated from the PGL CS:GO Major right at the quarterfinals by the competitors from Natus Vincere who eventually won first place. Right now will be a convenient moment for the French team to make some tweaks.
If the 1pv.fr report is indeed correct, this will be a monumental change of pace for Team Vitality. From the team’s creation in 2018 up until now, it has only fielded athletes of French origin. For reference, Dupreeh, Magisk and zonic are all Danish players.
It will definitely be interesting to see how a mixed nationality roster works for Team Vitality if the reports turn out to be true. The organization has yet to make any big announcements for post-Major roster changes so fans of the team should stay tuned.
