  • This happens less than two months after he first joined the organization in October
  • During this time, Taiga played at two events as part of Bleed Esports
  • Despite his short stay with the team, Taiga said he enjoyed playing in a different region

After an unsuccessful short stint with the Singaporean esports organization Blood Esports, Tommy “Taiga” Le leaves the team and enters free agent status.

Taiga and Blood Part Ways

It is safe to say that Tommy “Taiga” Le is one of Norway’s best players, but he had to take a step back from competitive Dota 2 due to personal problems. However, he made a comeback to the professional scene last month when he joined Bleed Esports. Unfortunately, his stay with the organization was not very long as yesterday, Bleed announced that Taiga would be leaving the team.

Notably, this was Taiga’s first stint in the Southeast Asian region after having spent most of his career playing in the European region for teams such as Alliance, Team Liquid, and OG. Taiga joined Bleed Esports back in mid-November alongside Natthaphon “Masaros” Ouanphakdee as the organization was preparing for the ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023: SEA Qualifiers.

Unfortunately, the team was unable to go through the event as they were knocked out by the newly formed team Aurora. Following this failure, the team went on to participate in a Tier 4 tournament called Kobolds Rave. However, they managed to secure only a fourth-place finish in this online tournament. It seems that this string of unsuccessful events played a part in Taiga’s departure from the team.

Despite that, it seems that he enjoyed his time with Bleed Esports, saying it was fun to try out playing in a new region. He also thanked the people who helped him during his stay in Bleed and wished his former teammates all the best in upcoming matches.

Before returning to professional Dota 2, Taiga had to battle with his gambling addiction, which he opened up about on Twitter in late October. He explained that he started gambling after The International 2022. His addiction eventually expanded to other sports and casino games but with time, Taiga noted he was regretful of wasting everything that he worked hard for.

He explained that if people are struggling with this sort of addiction or know someone who is doing so now, then they should not be afraid to reach out to any of his social media. “I know how hard and destructive addiction can be,” Taiga concluded.

Despite all the struggles he has gone through recently, Taiga seems eager to play more competitive Dota 2, saying that he is going into 2024 as a free agent and is looking for a new organization.

“In fact, we would argue that Bitcasino’s esports product is one of the best we have experienced. It’s simple, clear-cut, and offers a variety of products and options that other platforms are failing to deliver on.”
