- The organization signed a multi-year deal with the Counter-Strike coach
- He has been with MOUZ since 2021 when he was leading its junior division
- The players were one of the main reasons the coach decided on the contract extention
Having performed spectacularly in 2023, sycrone wants to continue these successes with MOUZ by extending his contract with the organization.
Sycrone Secures Contract Extention
Dennis “sycrone” Nielsen has been a part of MOUZ since 2021 and recently the organization announced it has extended the 27-year-old coach’s contract. The multi-year deal will see him head MOUZ’s mainline Counter-Strike 2 roster, helping the team maintain its status as a high-ranking pro team.
Dennis “sycrone” Nielsen first joined MOUZ in 2021 when he headed the MOUZ NXT roster, the organization’s junior division. In this role, the Danish coach help the lineup win several WePlay Academy titles. This also gave an important boost to sycrone’s career as in January of 2022, he was moved to the main team.
In his new role, the coach saw the NXT roster be gradually promoted to the main line, first with Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás and then adding Jon “JDC” de Castro and Dorian “xertioN” Berman. This gradual approach paid off well as MOUZ won a tier one title with their win at ESL Pro League Season 18 soon after the integration of another academy player in the face of Jimi “Jimpphat” Salo.
All of this resulted in sycrone being nominated by his peers as a top three coach of the year at the HLTV Award Show, which is proof of the Counter-Strike pro’s skills and teaching abilities.
Sycrone Talked About the Contract
Aside from the desire to continue the successful run that the coach has had with MOUZ, it seems there are also some practical reasons for the extension of his contract with the organization. “I’ve re-signed with MOUZ because they offer the best possible conditions. When we’re in talks about my contract, I raised a few concerns or demands around the team, and we talked a lot about how we can create the setup that I envisioned for the team, and that the vision for the team,” said sycrone on MOUZ’s official website.
The coach also explained that the people he met in MOUZ are also a big reason why he decided to extend his contract. He noted that the organization has an incredible lineup with young players from all around, who are super talented and have their best years ahead of them. “Why would you not want to be a part of that future, right? At the moment, we’re top three, and it’s a great position to be in. Time will tell where we will be at the end of this year,” sycrone explained.
He concluded his interview by saying he hopes the team could give another playoff showing at IEM Cologne and he thanked the fans for their continued support.
