You Speak My Language
Although voice changers are nothing new in the sphere of streaming, it hasn’t been done in such a way. Launching on September 9, Voicemod Bits is a new Twitch extension by Voicemod, whose purpose is to add a new fun way for viewers to interact with their favorite streamers.
What this addon does in its most basic form is to change a content creator’s voice in real-time, which is controlled by the audience. Voicemod Bits uses Twitch’s digital currency – Bits. Viewers can donate Bits to the streamer to change the streamer’s output voice settings, much like operating a voice changer. Twitch also gets a cut of each donated Bit, unlike donating to the streamer via third-party methods such as PayPal.
Voicemod Bits is a free extension but also has a paid version that adds more features. One of these is a tiered donation system, in which streamers can add multiple levels of options for viewers to use. If the streamer wants, they can make it so viewers have to pay a different amount in order to access different sound effects.
How Does It Work?
Voicemod has already undergone two months of testing with a few select streamers during its early access stage. During that time over 1.5 million Twitch Bits were spent by over 60,000 viewers, which proves that there is a demand and market for such a feature.
Voicemod Bits is easy to use. It links directly to your Twitch account. Streamers can then choose a variety of settings and presets before the stream starts. They can add voices they want and select the duration of each effect. Streamers can also use Voicelab to create and add more customized voices.
The content creator has full control on features to prevent spam or overloading. The Voicemod addon is easily integrated with most popular streaming tools such as Stream Deck and Streamlabs OBS. It can also work with chat apps such as Skype and Discord, as well as online games including Apex Legends, Valorant, Among Us, League of Legends, Minecraft, and Fortnite.
Voicemod Bits also has a partner program for dedicated users more of which can be learned from their website.
