- One True King has added a big Twitch veteran to its roster
- The announcement was made using a special “ghost hunt” stream
- Sodapoppin’s long and varied career will bring a lot of fresh viewers to OTK
One True King now has a new co-owner in the face of long-time Twitch star Sodapoppin.
Sodapoppin Joins OTK
The Texas-based gaming content creation group One True King has announced that it has added Twitch star Chance “Sodapoppin” Morris to its ranks. Not only that, but the popular Twitch streamer becomes co-owner of the organization.
With this addition, One True King, or just OTK for short, the owners of the group now number eight starts. Some of Sodapoppin’s new colleagues include other popular streamers like Mizkif and Asmongold, who is one of the organization’s founders.
The Twitter announcement was preceded by a special Twitch stream where several OTK members, including Mizkif, Rich Campbell, and Esfand, as well as others, participated in a live “ghost hunt”. The group was searching in an old abandoned warehouse, but things quickly took a turn for the worse when a mysterious stranger dressed as Ghostface seemed to take out most of the cast.
Of course, in the end, viewers saw Ghostface’s true identity was that of OTK’s new co-owner Sodapoppin. An abridged version of the “ghost hunt” stream was uploaded on YouTube, with the nine-minute video ending with the text: “Introducing OTK Sodapoppin.”
What Will the New Star Offer?
Joining founding members Asmongold, Esfand, Campbell, Mizkif, Tips, Nmplol, and Jschlatt, Sodapoppin becomes the eighth co-owner of One True King. He had already done work for the organization by recruiting Cyr, Tectone, BruceDropEmOff, and Emiru as OTK creators between October 2021 and March 2022.
The career of the 28-year-old Twitch star predates Twitch itself. His first major foray into streaming was on Xfire. In 2012, Sodapoppin transferred to Twitch when the platform was still called Justin.tv. Since then, he has become one of the top ten most-followed streamers on the website.
Like his colleague Asmongold, the Canadian streaming star relied heavily on World of Warcraft for his early content. In the mid-2010s, however, Sodapoppin decided to get further out of his comfort zone and experiment with various streams. This move proved to be great for him as now the Twitch star manages a stable 15 000 average viewers.
Sodapoppin joins a rapidly growing organization of creators. Since its foundation in 2020, OTK has seen a massive rise in its production value. As well as providing streamers with a close-knit network, OTK has even already hosted several live competitive events. With the signing of the deal with WePlay Esports, OTK has increased its production quality massively. Bringing in Sodapoppin is yet another big win for the organization, as the Twitch star will bring a lot of fresh viewers to OTK.
