Twitch, the global streaming platform will launch three new buttons on live channels for a test period. The buttons will appear for some users and once the test is completed they will disappear.

Twitch Is the Most-Watched Streaming Platform This Year

Established back in 2011, Twitch has been continuously getting more and more popular. Undoubtedly, the pandemic last year boosted views even more. But after a decade, now, Twitch solidified its presence as the most-watched streaming platform in 2021.

On Wednesday this week, Twitch announced that it launches three new test buttons. The new buttons will appear for some viewers for the span of the test which is expected to last one month. During that time, some viewers may see 3 new buttons on live channels. Those buttons are Rewind the Stream, Remind Me, as well as, Watch Trailer.

Rewind the Stream, Remind Me and Watch Trailer Buttons

Many users may find the rewind button to be quite useful. If the viewer has missed the start of the stream or an important moment they should be able to rewatch it and not miss on their favorite streams thanks to the rewind button. That may also come in handy for users that are in different time zones and didn’t have the chance to tune in at the start of the stream.

This experiment will inform future features only and the buttons will be removed once it’s complete,” reads a statement released by Twitch

Viewers that see the remind me button can use it to set reminders for their favorite streams. By using the button, a viewer should receive a reminder once their favorite streamer goes live. As a part of the test, Twitch rolled out a watch trailer button for some users. This button would enable viewers to watch trailers from stream channels without opening the stream channel’s profile.

The streaming platform outlined that once the experiment is completed, the buttons will be removed. However, this will grant the company important insights as it launched a discussion asking for feedback regarding the new options under the live video player. Users that have already tested the experimental features have shared their opinions and suggestions.
