  • Stream Charts has revealed data for the first quarter of this year
  • Hololive’s Usada Pekora is the most-watched female streamer so far in the year
  • Many of her colleagues occupy other top-ten positions

Vtubers have become extremely popular in the past few years and it seems that they will be here to stay, as Hololive talents dominate the charts of the most-watched female streamers in 2023.

Pekora Is the Most-Watched Female Streamer in 2023

Popular stream tracking platform Stream Charts has published data for the first quarter of this year and it seems vtubers dominate supreme in the female streamer category. The data shows stats from YouTube, as well as Twitch. The former platform is the preferred one for many vtubers, especially Japanese ones, both indie and those working under companies like Hololive and Nijisanji.

Perhaps then it should not be too surprising that Hololive content creators dominate the Stream Chart’s rankings in the female streamer category. And of these, it’s the company’s third-generation rabbit girl Usada Pekora that takes the spot as the most-watched female streamer of the first quarter of 2023.

Managing to attract 6.48 million hours watched on her YouTube channel, the vtuber posts a significant lead on Twitch streamer Rivers.gg, who managed to score 6 million hours watched. During the first three months of the year, Usada Pekora was live for over 230 hours. This makes her achievement even more impressive, as she amassed her dominant viewership with relatively fewer hours streamed compared to other top-ten streamers from the ranking.

Hololive Talents Dominate the Charts

The Stream Charts data also shows that Hololive vtubers dominate the top ten positions in the category as a whole. The number three spot is occupied by sixth-generation Hakui Koyori, who gathered almost 5 million viewership hours over 450 hours streamed.

The fourth and fifth positions on the ranking are also occupied by Hololive talents, namely Sakura Miko and Ozora Subaro, both of whom have clocked in around 4 million hours watched. The top ten list is rounded out by Hololive’s fourth-generation talents Tsunomaki Watame and Amane Kanata, who occupy the ninth and tenth place.

Curiously, despite Hololive streamers taking half of the spots in the most-watched females, none of them are from Hololive English. The EN branch of the company hosts some of the most popular vtubers, like Calliope Mori, or Gawr Gura, who with her more than 4 million followers on YouTube, is the most subscribed vtuber currently. However, considering she went on hiatus earlier in the year due to health reasons, she had lost a lot of time to make it in the charts. Gawr Gura returned to streaming in early February, but that was not enough to catch up to her Japanese colleagues.

Despite none of Hololive English’s talents not making it onto the list, it’s still impressive that half of the top-ten streamers are from the Japanese side of the company, suggesting that vtubers are not only here to stay, but also continue to grow in popularity.
