  • Spider Pigz will be returning as an independent Dota 2 team
  • The players refused to sign in a continuation of their Level Up Esports contracts
  • The only change will be Kamil “aggressive child” Biktimirov replacing Leonardo “RdO” Fernandes

Spider Pigzs has reformed its previous roster with only one change: Kamil’s “aggressive child” Biktimirov will be replacing Leonardo “RdO” Fernandes.

The Team Preferred Returning to Independency

Dota 2 has a dynamic esports ecosystem. Most rosters need to constantly make changes in order to remain at their strongest. Players come and go, sometimes they are dismissed, and others need a break or want to change pace

Spider Pigzs is one of the teams that decided they wanted to return to being independent. The members originally played together under Nikola “LeBronDota” Popović’s leadership before disbanding in February. Later on March 31, some of the former Spider Pigzs teammates signed a contract with Level Up Esports and started playing under their banner.

As members of Level Up Esports, the Spider Pigzs had a very good performance in the Dota Pro Circuit. They managed to rake $16,000 in winnings from getting second place at the lower division during the regional league’s season two.

However, despite their good run with Level Up Esports, the teammates have decided to return to independence. Level Up didn’t speak about this choice, but LeBronDota confirmed that it was the members’ decision not to prolong their contracts and return to being a self-sufficient team.

The Spider Pigzs Gather Once More

The teammates have adopted the name of Spider Pigz once again and will proceed to play in the European qualifiers for The International 10. The roster is more or less as it previously was with the change of Kamil “aggressive child” Biktimirov replacing Leonardo “RdO” Fernandes.

The team’s current roster is comprised of the following members:

  • Nikola “LeBronDota” Popović
  • Kamil “aggressive child” Biktimirov
  • Tony “No!ob” Assaf
  • Gleb “Funn1k” Lipatnikov
  • Dino “dnz” Šavuk

Spider Pigzs’ run for The International 10 will be starting uphill as their first match will be against the renowned Team Liquid. Team Liquid will be tough opponents, so it will be curious to see if Spider Pigzs can pull out the same level of play that got them into the second place of the lower division during the DPC. The match is scheduled for the EU’s regional qualifiers that begin on July 7.
