- Personal finance company SoFi has extended its deal with the esports team Misfits Gaming
- As a part of the new deal, Misfits Gaming players will wear SoFi’s logo on their characters’ clothing
- SoFi will also host a program to educate members of the esports team in the proper management of personal finances
SoFi and Misfits have extended their partnership with an additional deal that will see players’ in-game avatars wear the financial company’s logo.
The Deal, Its Benefits and Its Innovative Approach
SoFi and Misfits Gaming Group have extended their new year-long partnership with an additional arrangement. The deal’s details are set to help and improve both parties’ image.
SoFi is an American online personal finance company that first got into the esports scene by striking a deal with the Misfits Gaming Group a year ago. Since then, the financial company has reportedly experienced an almost 60% increase in customers’ trust.
Therefore it is no surprise that SoFi has been looking to extend the deal. However, the new deal will not only continue the two parties’ partnership but will also expand to provide further benefits to both.
Misfits Gaming’s Overwatch and Call of Duty players will now have their in-game avatars wear SoFi’s logo. And while that practice has a long history in sports, it will be a novelty when it comes to the players’ characters in esports. The patches will be designed in a way so that they are easily visible without being too big and intrusive to the experience of esports viewers.
Misfits will also receive substantial benefits from the deal. SoFi will do a financial education program to help professional esports players better understand how to cleverly use their finances. The goal is to teach Misfits Gaming’s members to be financially independent.
Other than that, the deal between the online personal finance company and the esports team will include a series of original content focused on teaching fans some of those same principles, under the motto “investing in your game.”
SoFi will sponsor all the endeavors of the Misfits’ North American Overwatch and Call of Duty teams and will have their logo included in real-world merchandize.
As of now, Misfits Gaming’s third team, which is based in Europe, has not been included in the deal with SoFi.
