- Sledgehammer reintroduces “Shipment” in Vanguard
- The map splits the community, as some love it – others not so much
- Shipment is promoted as a free weekend of multiplayer play on November 18-22
Sledgehammer will not shy away from bringing you back action-packed Shipment starting today, and as part of a free play weekend available to all.
A Great Map Makes Its Return
Call of Duty Vanguard is all the rage these days but to get more people involved, the game will be introducing a free weekend of play on one of the franchise’s most popular maps, Shipment. For those of you still hesitant whether to buy the game, Vanguard will be avaialble during the weekend of November 18 – November 22 as a free to play option for anyone. Players will get a chance to see if they like the dynamic or the map for that matter.
Sledgehammer Games are surely trying to cash in on some nostalgia as well as give people a reason to test their game if they haven’t bought it outright. Shipment was first introduced in Call of Duty 4, back in 2007. In fact, Shipment is a bit of a toss-up map: you either loathe it or love it. One thing is certain, as adrenaline junkies will be coming back over the weekend, we are bound to see a lot of action take place online.
Sledgehammer is very particular about allowing everyone in the game – although those who haven’t purchased the game will only get to play multiplayer, but without any of the frills, Charlie Intel reports.
The good news is that for those of you who have bought the game, Shipment is already available as of today, November 17. The rest of us lot will get to play the game starting on 10 am PT onwards. The game may be accessed directly through your console store or Battle.net accounts.
Apparently, people who have come for the zombies or campaign will miss out on those both features as Sledgehammer is only giving access to its online content. This is no small incentive to come and try Call of Duty: Vanguard free of charge and see if you want to join the action yourself.
If anything, players are coming to a more balanced multiplayer environment after the notorious shotgun bug has been finally fixed.
