We are almost at the final stage of the IEM CS:GO Rio Major and Natus Vincere’s Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev has one simple request for the Brazilian crowd.

S1mple’s Request

We are fast approaching the end of the IEM CS:GO Rio Major and teams are making last-minute preparations for the semifinals that start on November 10. And while some are celebrating the victories of their favorite teams who are continuing onto the next event, others address their fans directly. 

Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev, one of the most popular CS:GO players, a part of the equally popular Natus Vincere, recently implored Brazilian fans not to boo his team during the match against FURIA. FURIA is the only Brazilian team to continue forward to the quarterfinals and their recent one-sided victory over BIG was celebrated with huge cheers. 

The team is expected to play against NaVi on November 11 and s1mple had one request for the mostly Brazilian crowd at the venue – “Pls don’t BOOOOO us, ty, u welcome,” s1mple said in a post on social media.

The player also said that his team is not “ready to lose” and will prepare as best as they can for the upcoming match. Considering FURIA is the only Brazilian representative left in the Rio Major, it’s not surprising that fans took their victory over BIG a couple of days ago with so much emotion. It is also expected the same passion will be shown during the match against NaVi. Sometimes, however, the Brazilian fans have been somewhat rude to other teams, often booing them. 

S1mple’s request seems to have been taken well by fans, as many of them promise they will cheer on NaVi, but will still roar louder for their own team. “Bring your best because we will bring ours,” one commenter wrote, showing the Brazilians want to see a good fight. 

The final and arguably most exciting part of the IEM CS:GO Rio Major will be held in a different bigger venue to accommodate the larger expected audience. While up until now, matches were being played in Riocentro, the playoffs will be held in the Jeunesse Arena, which can hold more than 15 000 people. The Major will return on Thursday, November 10 with the first series between Outsiders and Fnatic, while NaVi and FURIA will take the stage on Friday.
