  • Ontario, the biggest province in Canada, has just legalized online gambling after regulatory approval
  • Numerous companies have launched their offerings to local bettors, including the esports-oriented operator Rivalry
  • Rivalry, a company based in Ontario, hopes to conquer the local market and rise above its foreign competitors

Rivalry has launched its online gambling offerings in the newly-opened Ontario iGaming market.

Rivalry Comes Home

Rivalry, one of the largest esports betting operators, has launched its offerings in Ontario. That is a monumental step for the company which is based in the Canadian province. The Ontario iGaming market went live on April 4 after approval by the local regulator. As of now, fans of esports can take their engagement further with Rivalry and explore its exciting offerings.

Rivalry was founded in 2016 with its headquarters in Toronto. However, now will be the first time local punters actually get to experience the company’s esports betting options. To celebrate its launch, the operator unveiled a marketing campaign with the motto “Bet on Canada. Bet on Rivalry,” urging bettors to avoid offshore operators and pick the local alternative.

Ontario is the first Canadian jurisdiction that opted to legalize iGaming. As the biggest province in the country, it was quickly targeted by many of the biggest names in the gambling sector. Rivalry is one of the few natives and will have to compete with numerous foreign brands.

The Operator Hopes to Distinguish Itself

Rivalry’s co-founder and chief executive officer, Steven Salz, spoke about the launch. He emphasized Rivalry’s drive to “do things differently” and distinguish itself on the market. Salz elaborated:

“We are aiming to be the sportsbook for the next generation through engaging content and innovative experiences that entertain and create loyal fans of Rivalry who come back for more.”

The CEO shared that the launch in Ontario, Rivalry’s home market, feels like “a dream come true.” He pointed out that this is a significant milestone for turning the operator into a leading global brand.

Ontario is now the second fully-regulated market where Rivalry’s offerings are available. The company’s esports betting products are also available to bettors in Australia, following a launch in the country earlier this year. Rivalry’s offerings are also available in multiple other countries. While the operator’s charm point is its esports offerings, it also offers sports betting products and various proprietary casino games.

Two weeks ago, Rivalry expanded its portfolio by adding mobile esports betting offerings to its sportsbook. The new additions allow esports fans to bet on games such as Free Fire, PUBG Mobile, League of Legends: Wild Rift, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and Call of Duty Mobile.

“In fact, we would argue that Bitcasino’s esports product is one of the best we have experienced. It’s simple, clear-cut, and offers a variety of products and options that other platforms are failing to deliver on.”
