Riot Games hires industry veteran Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz to design quests for the upcoming Runeterra MMORPG.

Tomaszkiewicz Joins Riot’s MMORPG Team

Riot Games isn’t known to cut corners when it comes to the quality and polish of its games. The game development company continues to maintain this tendency and has hired Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz as one of the quest designers of its upcoming massively multiplayer online roleplaying game project. Tomaszkiewicz made the announcement on Twitter on September 20.

“I spent the last few months meeting and talking to a number of great people and teams, and now I’m pleased to announce that I’ll be joining Riot Games on their upcoming MMORPG project,” he revealed.

Tomaszkiewicz added that he feels excited and motivated and believes this will be a fresh new challenge.

Tomaszkiewicz isn’t a random industry name. The veteran designer has previously worked for the renowned company CD Projekt Red – the same company behind Cyberpunk 2077 and the critically-acclaimed The Witcher RPG series. Tomaszkiewicz is an elite who has designed many of the engaging quests in those famous titles.

The executive producer of the upcoming MMORPG, Greg “Ghostcrawler” Street, shared that he’s been a fan of Tomaszkiewicz for a while and is delighted to have him on board.

“His vision, approach, and commitment to resonant stories and player experiences are perfect for the new MMO,” Ghostcrawler shared in a tweet of his own.

Riot’s Mysterious MMORPG

Riot Games announced its intentions to make an MMORPG game back at the beginning of 2021. Yet, despite several months passing, we still know next to nothing about what the game will be like. Currently one of the only confirmed facts is that is going to bring Runeterra, the League of Legends universe to life in a new and unique way.

The game is believed to be in its very early stages of development which is confirmed by the fact that Riot is still in need of human resources with emphasis on industry professionals. MMORPGs are known as arguably the most difficult games to make because of the sheer quantity of content that has to be prepared. Moreover, Riot is surely planning to make a good and marketable title which is also likely to increase the time its MMO is in the works.

Currently, fans have nothing to work with, except a release date estimate of somewhere in 2023. However, the hiring of Tomaszkiewicz serves to show that the MMORPG is not only being worked on but also that Riot is using the best and most talented of specialists for the making of the game.
