Rainbow Six Siege Championship in Brazil Starts Tomorrow

in Rainbow Six Siege
March 19, 2021
  • The tournament is set to begin March 20 and will have the first stage played remotely because of the pandemic
  • Ten groups will compete for a prize pool of $90,000
  • The top six teams will advance to the LATAM's Copa Elite Six, and the remaining four will remain in the local Brazilian Copa do Brazil

The long-anticipated Brasileirão 2021, Ubisoft's dedicated Rainbow Six: Siege event, is right around the corner, with the prize pool estimated at $90,000.

Ubisoft Announces Details for the Brasileirão 2021

Having received the sponsorship of Lenovo, Logitech, Acer, and Brazilian Investment Company Clear Corretora, Ubisoft is moving on with its plans for Brasileirão 2021, the main Rainbow Six Siege tournament, hosted in Brasil.

Starting Saturday, March 20, this edition of BR6 will have ten teams face off against one another for a prize pool of 500,000 reals or roughly 90,000 dollars. All the teams have already been confirmed and will include some major players such as Team Liquid, FaZe Clan, and Ninjas in Pyjamas. The other featured teams will be Black Dragons e-Sports, INTZ, MIBR, Team oNe eSports, W7M Gaming, Santos e-Sports, and FURIA Esports

The tournament will have three splits and will be in a round-robin format where each team will face each other team once. The top 6 teams will have the opportunity to advance to the Copa Elite Six (Elite Six Cups), which will feature teams from the whole LATAM region. The remaining four will face off again in the Copa do Brazil (Brazil cup) – a smaller local tournament.

The first of the three splits will take place remotely, although there are plans for hosting the other two in the Max Arena in São Paulo, should the COVID-10 situation calm down. The finals will take place near the end of the year.

And speaking of the pandemic, Ubisoft also announced that the delayed R6 Invitational will now take place in May.

The aforementioned Rainbow Six Siege events will be streamed on their respective dedicated Twitch channels. Ubisoft even made the nice gesture of establishing an additional channel where leagues will be aired in Portuguese for the Brazilian and Portuguese audiences.
