June marked an 11% year-over-year increase in the total revenue collected by PUBG Mobile in the month.
Sensor Tower Reports another Gain for PUBG Mobile Revenue
PUBG Mobile seems to know no boundaries when it comes to the revenue the game has been able to generate. According to Sensor Tower, an analytics firm that follows the mobile gaming segment, PUBG Mobile has been steadily posting strong results, with the June numbers hitting $213.8 million.
This is an 11% growth year-over-year, meaning that PUBG Mobile has retained its upward trend, despite relaxation of social distancing globally. A key driver of revenue proved the game's Chinese version, Peacekeeper Elite, a tailored product for the market inspired by the battle royale classic.
China led the way in terms of total revenue, with 53.3% of the total revenue generated in the country and the United States falling to just 11.2%. India used to be a huge driver of revenue as well, but the country has also adopted an alternate version amid a rift in the bilateral relations between China and India and fears that Indian citizens' data may have been stolen.
Krafton rallied magnificently by developing a standalone version from the original and tailoring it specifically to the regulatory needs of the country and to the general approval of the community.
PUBG Mobile Still has Some Catch-up to Play
Sensor Tower collected available information from Apple App Store and Google Play Store, with the results still a bit shy of May's record this year when the revenue hit a global record of $258 million. PUBG Mobile is still behind Honor of Kings, though, the Chinese megahit by Tencent, which amassed $277 million in June alone, marking a 21% year-over-year growth.
Meanwhile, Garena Free Fire seemed to retain its standing in the Sensor Tower revenue tracker, with the game still the eighth most grossing mobile game to try. PUBG Mobile continues to be a global hit, with the developers taking tougher action on cheaters who have inundated the game on every level of the experience.
