Month after the PUBG Continental Series 4 announcement, Krafton has decided to provide full details on the event.
The Details about the Event Series
In March Krafton announced that the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Continental Series will make a return this year. Now the company has come out to give both fans and players everything they need to know about the event series.
The PCS4 will not be a single tournament but rather four different events taking place in the following regions:
- Europe
- Americas
- Asia
- Asia-Pacific
The series will open with qualifiers in May and will additionally feature a Last Chance Qualifier event. The latter will have the seven bottom placing teams compete for a prize pool of $20,000. Four of them will have the chance to continue to the playoffs.
Then the regions will proceed to hold their respective group stage events and playoffs.
The grand finals will be the event’s culmination and will take place in June. Each of the four grand finals will feature the 16 best teams in the respective region.
To make it possible for fans to see everything the series’ climax has to offer, the schedule will have the four regions’ finals rotate. The set dates are as follows:
- Europe and Asia: June 12-14, 19-20 and 26-27
- The Americas and Asia Pacific: June 10-11, 17-18 and 24-25
For fans’ delight, Krafton announced that the Pick’Em Challenge will come back as well. It’s a system that allows fans to divine how a match will go and earn in-game prizes if they are right. Voting is done with special voting coupons that are earned as a bonus for buying PCS4 items. A third of the money from PCS4 items are planned to be added to the prize pool.
Coupons will also be earned as a reward for watching the streams. Speaking of which, the broadcast will be available on both PUBG’s official Twitch channel and the PUBG Esports YouTube channel.
The PCS4 is just around the corner. Those interested in participating can sign up for their respective region’s event.
