Krafton’s Game Makes a Triumphant Return
Good news for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile! The game’s Indian version, known as Battlegrounds Mobile India, has finally been released on Apple’s App Store and is available for fans that prefer Apple devices.
On September 2 last year, PUBG Mobile was banned in India altogether by the Ministry of Electronics and IT. The reason was various security concerns and data breaches that the game could potentially cause. PUBGM later came to be unbanned and returned under the new name. However, Battlegrounds Mobile India was initially only released for Android devices and left Apple fans hanging.
This is no more as the game is already up on Apple’s App Store. It takes up 1,9 gigabytes of space and requires a device with an iOS version no older than 11.0. Indian fans of Krafton’s famous competitive shooter can open up their devices and download them right now.
Fans in the Country are Happy to Have the Game Back
Battlegrounds Mobile India’s Android release came this year on July 2, after the game was banned for almost a full year. In just over a month, according to an official release by Krafton, the game has quickly scored over 50 million downloads on the Google Play Store. This served to prove how popular it is in the country and how much fans had missed it.
As a sign of gratitude towards the impressive fan interest, the developers released a new in-game outfit that was given for free to all players.
Additionally, a new competitive esports event has been announced. Called the Battlegrounds Mobile India Series, the tournament will put players’ skills to the test and give the best of them a shot at the $134,700 prize pool. Apple users have received the release of Battlegrounds Mobile just in time as there is still time to sign up for the event before registrations close. However iOS players will have less time to hone their skills and prepare as their Android colleagues have had the game for a month longer.
The Battlegrounds Mobile India Series promises to be a spectacular event with over 540,000 registrations as of now. That number is sure to skyrocket when Apple users jump in.
