  • The streamer announced he is migrating platforms
  • He thinks YouTube is a better place for the type of content he intends to make
  • This marks yet another big name leaving Twitch in favor of YouTube

The number of popular Twitch streamers who have migrated over to YouTube increases with the name of Myth.

Myth Will Join YouTube Gaming

Last year saw a large migration of many Twitch streamers moving to other platforms, mostly to YouTube. This included many big names like TimTheTatman and Dr Disrespect, and now they are going to be joined by popular variety streamer Ali Kabbani, also known as Myth online. The now-former Twitch star announced he is going to be signing an exclusive deal with YouTube Gaming.

“All my life decisions have made me who I am, and this is my decision,” the popular streamer said in the announcement video. Throughout the video, Myth contemplates the decisions he’s made in his life regarding him professionally playing Fortnite or entering professional gaming.

“I’ve kind of had this shift of being a professional gamer and being like this dedicated, sweaty gamer kid, to being someone that’s a bit more entertainment-focused, that has a personality, that’s willing to show up to events and be a personality for people, and for the stream, and for the audience,” said Myth in an interview for The Hollywood Reporter.

The popular streamer’s shift might be easier than expected. Myth already has a YouTube channel boasting over 4.5 million subscribers, where the creator frequently uploads stream highlights, miscellaneous things, or even whole VODs.

Myth also explained that another reason for the shift over to YouTube Gaming is that he feels the platform is more apt for the type of philosophy he is adopting towards gaming. “I love games — it’s never going to change,” Myth said. “But I think that shift and focus about it not just being strictly about winning games anymore has driven me to feel like YouTube was the right place.”

Another reason Myth is moving platforms is the different way Twitch is considering paying its creators. According to a Bloomberg report from April, the Amazon-owned platform was considering a change to how it pays its biggest streamers to increase profit. Neither the streamer nor YouTube Gaming has commented on either company’s pay structures.

Although Twitch remains the top platform for live streaming content, YouTube has been gaining a fair bit of momentum over the past couple of years. Myth’s migration marks yet another point for the latter.

From our 5 star review…

“In fact, we would argue that Bitcasino’s esports product is one of the best we have experienced. It’s simple, clear-cut, and offers a variety of products and options that other platforms are failing to deliver on.”
