  • Philly Esports is on the lookout for the best Philadelphia VALORANT players
  • Prospects will join Metro Esports’ competitive VALORANT unit
  • The organization seeks to create multicultural esports teams

Tournament organizer Philly Esports is looking for Philadelphia’s top VALORANT players to join The Metro Squad, a brand new, inclusive co-ed team currently recruiting nationwide from Metro Esports.

Metro Esports is a rising gaming facility operator known for its community outreach and focus on education. The organization has pledged to find what they hope will be the most inclusive VALORANT team in the world. Philly Esports will lend its resources to help this initiative, hosting a combined event to find the area’s top talent and encouraging everyone to participate regardless of background, ethnicity, gender identity, etc.

Calling all Agents

Metro Esports will host a combined style event in the Live! Casino & Hotel in Philadelphia on October 16th, where players can show off their skills inside a 2v4 clutch booth.

Recruiting for The Metro Squad began on July 5 with an Online Valorant Open, with finals on July 10. Finalists from this competition will now head to Philadelphia to compete against the city’s VALORANT hopefuls. Any player interested in being considered should sign up at metro-squad.com

The final 12 based on this event will be announced and will be given a chance to win a spot on the Metro Squad.

“We at Philly Esports are also passionate about providing ALL gamers the opportunity to grow and showcase their talent,” said Philly Esports Founder and CEO Adam Nelson. “The world is opening up not only after Covid but in terms of the diversity that audiences and organizations want to see. Gaming is for everyone. We can’t wait to meet the talented individuals that attend our scouting event and watch their mad skills!”

The Mission

Metro Esports is determined to recruit America’s first multicultural, co-ed professional esports team, and Riot Games’ VALORANT scene is a good place to start. The shooter game has inspired several of the world’s top esports organizations to recruit all-female VALORANT teams, including TSM, Cloud9, and CLG Red.

The Metro Squad aims to promote not only women, but VALORANT Players of varying backgrounds, ethnicities, and genders to create a diverse and all-inclusive team. Co-ed teams are all but non-existent in the current esports landscape, at least on the professional level.

With the support of Philly Esports, Metro’s nationwide tour will find the best and most diverse American VALORANT players out there.

“In fact, we would argue that Bitcasino’s esports product is one of the best we have experienced. It’s simple, clear-cut, and offers a variety of products and options that other platforms are failing to deliver on.”
