- Permitta qualifies for the event after beating PACT 2-0
- With that victory, the team also qualifies for the ESL Pro League Season 17
- The team achieved all this with a relatively young roster
Polish Championship winners Permitta become the second team to earn a spot at the IEM Katowice 2023 Play-Ins.
Permitta Will Play at IEM Katowice
The ESL’s CS:GO tournament in Katowice is coming closer and teams are racing to earn a spot at the prestigious event. However, Permitta, the ESL Polish Championship Autumn title holders, don’t need to worry that much as the team already qualified for the event’s Play-Ins.
Having dispatched of PACT 2-0 on Inferno (16-10) and Nuke (16-10) to grab the national trophy, Permitta also grabbed a spot in the ESL Pro League Season 17 Conference with the victory. This makes the Polish champions the 17th team to secure a spot in the tournament that will offer six spots in the main league.
Despite suffering defeat at the hands of Permitta, PACT can still take pride in its achievements. The team performed admirably in the group stage and then bested the highest-ranked team in the playoffs, AGO, on their way to the final.
Ultimately, however, Permitta is the one to participate in the IEM Katowice, where the team will face teams like Movistar Riders, Imperial, and paiN. Permitta might even come face to face with Russian players Outsiders, who will participate in Katowice despite Poland’s entry ban for Russian citizens from its external border.
Another Win for Permitta
Permitta’s roster is relatively young for CSLGO standards, with the average age of its players being just 22.7 years. Its core players, Rafał “iso” Tync, Mariusz “casey” Jarząb and Dawid “Layner” Falczyński have been plying their trade together on and off since 2020. The trio’s achievement is even more astounding, considering they’ve played together for a very short time, having joined Permitta in November.
The team’s qualification for the IEM Katowice is yet another big success Permitta has achieved these past months. The organization’s other big win in recent times was winning ESEA Advanced during the end of their stint playing under PALOMA. As for PACT, they were underdogs heading into the final considering over 50 places separated them and Permitta. The trio of Bartosz “bnox” Niebisz, Dawid “lunAtic” Cieślak and Maciej “b1elany” Biliński briefly peaked at No. 64. However, that was in 2021, and since then the team has struggled to reach the same heights.
