NBA 2KL’s Operations Lead Will Join the OWL, Reports Have It

in Overwatch
March 6, 2022
  • Brad Ross, a former Overwatch player and the operations lead of the NBA 2K League might be joining the OWL
  • He will be assuming the role of an operations lead, sources told Dexerto
  • Ross announced his leave from the NBA 2K League a few days ago

According to reports, Brad Ross, the operations leader of the NBA 2K League will be joining the Overwatch League after his departure on March 9.

Ross is Reportedly Joining the OWL

The Overwatch League has reportedly hired Brad Ross to its team, sources told the esports news outlet Dexerto. According to the announcement, the experienced Ross will become the league’s new operations lead.

Ross is a former Overwatch League athlete who used to play competitively in the first few years of the game. He went under the tag PYYYOUR and has played for various teams. His experience includes a notable stint with Splyce before retiring as a player and moving to a coaching role under Houston Outlaws’ banner. Ross mentored the latter organization’s academy team for a while, after which he went on to co-found the esports team Triumph.

In 2019, Ross became the operations leader of the NBA 2K League and has retained this position since.

Ross Recently Announced His Leave from the NBA 2KL

A few days ago, Ross announced that he will be leaving the NBA 2K League оn March 9 this year. He thanked the league for the past three years and the opportunities he had.

“I remember first learning the ropes when I joined. Then, with the help of teams and players, pivoting our season at the onset of COVID. And finally, opening the league’s format this year to better engage with the community. It’s incredible how far we’ve come together and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity,” Ross’ message reads.

Ross said that he is ending the current chapter to start a new one. And, according to Dexerto’s sources, the new chapter includes him coming back home to the OWL.

Ross has extensive experience with esports operations thanks to his stay at the NBA 2KL, which makes him a perfect pick to revitalized the OWL. Overwatch has had its ups and downs in the last few months, with most of the downs being caused by the controversies surrounding Blizzard and the delay of Overwatch 2’s release.
